PA CLE: Group 3 Must Complete 12 CLEs by December 31

Pennsylvania attorneys must complete at least 12 CLE hours each annual compliance period to complete the Pennsylvania CLE requirement.[1] Please note that there are 3 CLE reporting groups in Pennsylvania – which means 3 different CLE deadlines. Pennsylvania attorneys that are in compliance Group III must complete the 12 required Pennsylvania CLE hours by December 31.

PA CLE Group III Deadline

  • December 31

Group III attorneys may complete 6 PA CLE hours by completing  online and downloadable CLE courses. Attorney Credits offers individual courses (including legal ethics) and also offers 6 hour PA CLE Bundles for Pennsylvania attorneys, the maximum allowed under the PA CLE Rules. PA CLE: Late Pennsylvania CLE Compliance

Pennsylvania attorneys must complete 12 PA CLE hours each annual compliance period, including at least 2 hours of legal ethics.[1]  Pennsylvania attorneys that are in PA CLE Compliance Group 2 were required to complete their Pennsylvania CLE by August 31.  If you are a Group 2 Pennsylvania attorney and you did not complete the required PA CLE by August 31 you will get a report of non-compliance from the PA CLE Board.[2]

Late PA CLE Compliance

If you receive a report of non-compliance you must comply with the PA CLE Rules and Regulations within sixty (60) days from the date of the notice.[3]

If you are a Group 2 attorney and you did not completed your Pennsylvania CLE requirement you have until October 31 to complete the required 12 PA CLE hours. An initial late compliance fee of $100 is also assessed if you did not complete the required PA CLE by the August 31 deadline date.[4]  If you remain out of compliance – by either not completing PA CLE hours or not paying late fees – your name will be submitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on a Non-Compliant List.[5]  For more information about CLE in Pennsylvania please click here: PA CLE.

[1] Of the 12 required PA CLE hours, Pennsylvania attorneys may now complete 6 hours each year by completing computer based online and downloadable Pennsylvania CLE courses.

[2] If a Pennsylvania lawyer fails to comply under the CLE Rules and Regulations, the PA CLE Board will send the lawyer a report of non-compliance. The lawyer must, within sixty (60) days from the date of the notice, comply with the CLE Rules and Regulations. In addition, the lawyer must pay a late fee as required by the Board.

[4] A second $100 late fee will be assessed if the PA CLE requirement is not completed within the 90 day period from the initial notice of non-compliance.

[5] The Court will issue an order to administrative suspend the licenses of those lawyers who do not comply with the PA MCLE requirement. When the order is issued, non-compliant lawyers are assessed a third $100 late fee.

PA CLE: Reporting CLE Compliance

Pennsylvania attorneys must complete at least 12 CLE hours each annual compliance period.[1] Pennsylvania attorneys in Compliance Group III must complete the 12 required Pennsylvania CLE hours by December 31.

The PA CLE Board keeps a record of your CLE compliance and will inform you of your CLE status and will provide you with a final compliance report.[2] If you have not completed your required CLE, you must cure any CLE deficiency. Click here for more information about Pennsylvania CLE: PA CLE.

PA CLE: Complete 6 PA MCLE Hours by Online CLE

Pennsylvania attorneys must complete 12 PA CLE hours each annual compliance period, including at least 2 hours of legal ethics. Of the 12 required PA CLE hours, Pennsylvania attorneys may now complete 6 hours each year by completing computer based online and downloadable Pennsylvania CLE courses.

Pennsylvania attorneys that are in PA CLE Compliance Group 3 are required to complete their Pennsylvania CLE by December 31.[1] Attorney Credits’ Distance Learning PA CLE courses have been approved by the Pennsylvania CLE Board. PA CLE: December 31 CLE Deadline for Group 3

Pennsylvania attorneys must complete at least twelve (12) CLE credit hours each annual compliance period in order to fulfill the Pennsylvania CLE requirement.[1] Attorneys in Pennsylvania are broken down into 1 of 3 Pennsylvania CLE Compliance Groups for CLE compliance and reporting purposes. Pennsylvania attorneys that are in compliance Group III are currently due for compliance and must complete the PA CLE requirement by December 31.[2]

PA CLE Compliance Group III

January 1 – December 31

Pennsylvania attorneys that are in Group III may complete 6 PA CLE hours by completing Attorney Credits online and downloadable Pennsylvania CLE courses. Attorney Credits offers individual courses (including legal ethics courses) and also offers 6 unit CLE compliance packages for Pennsylvania attorneys in compliance Group III. [1] As part of the annual 12 hour PA CLE requirement, Pennsylvania attorneys must now complete at least a minimum of two (2) hours of legal ethics, professionalism or substance abuse.

[2] The PA CLE groups are chosen randomly by lawyer ID number. Once you are assigned to a PA CLE compliance group, your compliance group will never change. Even if your last name changes, your PA CLE Compliance Group will remain the same.
